A subdomain is a web address, that is under a main, or a root domain name. An illustration is something.domain.com, where domain.com is the main domain name, while "something" is the subdomain below it. Each subdomain can have its own site and records i.e. apart from using the domain name as part of the whole web address, a subdomain can be entirely independent and also hosted by a separate company. Using a subdomain can be extremely practical if you'd like to have different web sites which are related in some way. For example, you may have a web-based store under the main domain plus a forum under a subdomain in order to offer means for your clients to ask questions and share opinions about your products. The benefit of employing a subdomain as opposed to a subfolder is that the web sites are going to be separated, so that you can update one of them or perform maintenance not affecting the other.

Subdomains in Web Hosting

Our web hosting plans will enable you to create numerous subdomains for every domain address hosted inside your account without any difficulty. Provided that the main domain address is added, it will take 2 mouse clicks to create a subdomain and choose what folder it'll open (if different from the default one), create custom error pages, activate FrontPage Extensions, set a shared IP address or a dedicated one, plus much more. All subdomains are going to be conveniently listed in alphabetical order under their main domain for effortless access and control. By right-clicking on any of them and by using quick access buttons you can see the error logs, visitor statistics or site files for that specific subdomain. We have not set a restriction for the total number of subdomains that you can create with any of our plans, so you can have as many as you want.
