In accordance with the policy approved by ICANN, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, the contact information a domain name is registered with must be valid and accurate at all times. Additionally, this information is openly visible on WHOIS lookup websites and while this may not be a problem for companies, it may not be very acceptable for individuals, since anyone can view their names and their personal email and street addresses, especially in an age when identity fraud isn’t that atypical. That is the reason why registrar companies have come up with a service that hides the details of their customers without editing them. The service is called Whois Privacy Protection. If it’s enabled, people will see the details of the registrar, not those of the domain owner, if they make a WHOIS lookup. The Whois Privacy Protection service is supported by all generic top-level domain name extensions, but it is still not possible to conceal your private information with some country-code ones.

Whois Privacy Protection in Web Hosting

If you order a web hosting plan from our company, you will be able to enable Whois Privacy Protection for any of your domain names as long as their extensions support this option. You can register/transfer a domain name and add Whois Privacy Protection during the signup process or you can activate the service for any of your domain names at any time afterwards via the Hepsia hosting Control Panel. The process is stunningly easy – once you log in, you will need to visit the Registered Domains section where you’ll find a list of all the domains that you’ve registered with us. For each of them you’ll see an “Whois Privacy Protection” sign, which will show you if the service is enabled or not. By clicking it, you can either Whois Privacy Protect the domain, or you can turn off the service if it is currently active.

Whois Privacy Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting

If you’d like to conceal the contact details for your domain name and you have a semi-dedicated server account with our company, you’ll be able to add our Whois Privacy Protection service either during the account activation procedure or at any moment afterwards through your Hepsia Control Panel. The service is optional and can be enabled with several mouse clicks from the Registered Domains section of the Control Panel where all the domains that you have registered with us will be listed alphabetically. You can activate Whois Privacy Protection for any of the domain extensions that support the service by simply clicking the “Whois Privacy Protection” icon to the right of each domain. In the exact same manner, you can also renew the Whois Privacy Protection service or remove it – if you would like to transfer a domain name to some other domain name registrar and you need the real email address associated with the domain name to be visible.
